Appealing the Appalling

My loyal family, friends and followers have been sending offers of payment for an MRI and/or encouragement to appeal the denial of authorization for the scan. Therefore, first thing Monday morning, I am going to speak with the insurance company and my physicians. I guess I should have thought of this myself, but, as with everything else these days, I'll blame the cancer for not thinking clearly. Thanks to everyone. I will let you know how it goes.

  3. Yes, this is very disturbing that your insurance company would deny you the procedures you need with the type of cancer you have. If I wasn't on Social Security Disability for my own health problems (lung cancer (first tumor removed by taking the upper lobe of my right lung and severe lower back problems), I would gladly donate to help you get the medical help you need. Now, a nodule that was not there in 2007 when I first had my lung surgery has shown up and it is growing. I guess none of us are promised anything in this life, but I would gladly take on your cancer because I am 57 and you are so young with a family and a beautiful daughter. I mean this sincerely. I never had children because something told me, early on, that my life would be very rough and it has been. The psychological impact of chronic illness is devastating and I have so much stress in my life because of it. Elisa, I hope your insurance company will rethink their decision or an "angel" will be able to help you afford this MRI. Love, Vicki and Blazer, the sweet little poodle

  4. Do you have a Paypal account so your friends (those you know and those you don't) could send whatever they wish to help you with this? I just ended my 33 year career doing fostercare for newborns and have sold much of my clothing on Ebay. I would be honored to share some of it with you.

  6. I hope you bring them to their knees, actually.. absolutely appauling that you should have to wait for an MRI, given the seriousness of the illness and the need to act quickly.

  8. Elisa I am an excellent writer if you need one. I am not a Paralegal studying to become a lawyer to play. I want to fight for the rights of sick people, people that need meds, chemo, tests whatever!

Are you aware that I met this past summer at Target a woman around 32 years of age with Tripple Negative Cancer. She and I began to talk in the Starbucks in Target. I don't remember how I managed to get her to reveal to me that she had the cancer (I think I might of complimented her shaved head). Anyways, as we spoke she revealed to me she married a Brittish fellow and that she lived in the outskirts of London near where I used to live some years ago. She went on to tell me that their healthcare gets a bad rap in the U.S., but that the U.S. capitalistic way is wrong. She told me that she received the best treatment, the most kind people and medical care providers, she never had to pay a "penny" for her treatments and/or medicines and NEVER had to worry about working, loosing her job or her townhouse. She also made the point that having that kind of peace of mind made her treatments go so much easier.

I wish the U.S. when we colonizen here had kept some of the good things the U.K. does for its people. I lived there and I knew what she told me was true. It is nationalized healthcare, but nothing like the proposed "Obama care." (No disrespect to the later intended) It is just a different type of healthcare.

I am praying for you. If you need some letters. Send me some facts and I will draft you some letters that will scare the hell out of them and cause them to HAVE TO give you the desired and required care you deserve, that is of course unless they want a malpractice suit, which is your right.

If you need help drafting anything contact me at legonzalezlaw@gmail.com

We love you all here!!! God bless you. xoxoxo Liz
