Shit Happens...Finally

I'm not in the right environment or head space to give a detailed account but here's the poop so to speak!

Nathan went into surgery at 11:10 and was done by 11:40. The longest parts have been the prep and recovery. The procedure went very well and there were NO complications. He is complaining of a lot abdominal pain which to be expected but otherwise he seems well. He is thrilled to be rid of the ileostomy.

If there is anything new to report, I will post again. Thanks to everyone who continues to pray and send good wishes our way. Let's make 2012 a fabulous year!

  2. That is wonderful. I am glad they found nothing to prevent the surgery. Clean bill of health. Whenever air is in the guts it takes a while for it to release. All good.

  13. Elisa and Nathan,

I have been following your story and I completely get it when you say it's a shit show. I hear ya. My husband and I were diagnosed with stage III breast and he with stage IV esophogeal cancer 6 weeks apart. We went through all our treatments together. We have 2 little girls, I was 39 and he was 45.

People used to ask if we thought there was a reason this was happening to us. And I would answer, "life is a shit show, who knows why?"

Sometimes the situation is so unreal, you can't even start to analyze it. It is what it is, and you do your best to get through it.

    Hang in there.

  21. Elisa, Please look at this and ask your dr. about it.

That last link was too medical.. This explains it in an understandable way. I am so excited and proud of my home town.
