First Holiday as a Family-Thanksgiving 2009

Our first holiday as a family with Sadie was Thanksgiving. Aunt Arlene and Uncle Aldo's hosted the day at their house in Park Slope. Everyone helped with the cooking. Our contribution was Nathan's sweet potatoes with pecans and brown sugar...mmmm. It was an unusual gathering for our clan as there were no major meltdowns or arguments. I guess that's what comes with two new babies in the mix.Sadie looked fetching in her adorable red Jackie Kennedy inspired ensemble. It was a gift from "Aunt" Tania, my high school best friend, and her new baby girl, Olivia. A few family members were unable to attend including, Ris, Logan, Adam, Hayley, Drew and Urmi. They were all sorely missed but we can't wait to see them at Christmas.

Oops, I did it again...

Posted by Picasa

I used to be so on top of the latest technology but it was only last week that I discovered Picasa. Okay, I knew it existed and it's not exactly as revolutionary as the iPhone, but I hadn't used it yet. Love it. It will make blogging so much easier for me. Now if I can only figure out what to do about my video clips from my Sanyo Xacti vpc-cg 10. Any techies out there? The clips are fine when you watch them on playback on the TV or the camera itself but not the computer. It's like watching an old-school, poorly dubbed Kung Fu movie.
Okay...as you can see I am rambling on because it's 6 am and even though Sadie only woke up once at 3 am for a quick diaper change and middle of the night snack, I haven't been able to fall back asleep. Ah, the gods are cruel.

The Slideshow on the right...

The last two months have been a blurr but we've had many wonderful visitors and moments we'd like to share. Unfortunately, some very important people like 'Uelita and Dala are not featured in this slideshow. Nathan and I still need to sync our pictures. Going forward we will document as events occur.

FINALLY...we're up and running

It's been nine weeks and five days since Miss Sadie Abigail Bond joined this world. Finally, her parents (that would be me, Elisa, and Nathan) have gotten it together enough to start the family blog so we can keep friends and relatives updated with pictures and video clips of memorable events, embarrassing moments and
everyday happenings. So let's take a look back and begin at the beginning.

Sadie Abigail Bond arrives at 5:52 pm on Sunday, September 13, 2009. She weighs 9 lbs 6 oz and is 21.5 inches long. Born at home (on purpose) with the help of Kristen Leonard, our amazing midwife, Nathan, the best husband in the world and Marisa, our gentle handmaiden. That's all you really need to know. BUT...if you can handle it, the details of our labor and delivery are chronicled in another posting titled Labor and Delivery. Feel free to read about it or just skip to the next section.
