In Memory of My Light and Love - Elisa

In the hectic past few days (Sadie has been sick with a fever since Wednesday as well), I have forgotten that I needed to update here on the blog. Elisa would have reminded me I know.

It is with profound sorrow that I write these words.
My light and love Elisa passed away yesterday afternoon. She fought for every moment of life with unparalleled bravery and astonishing grace. I am left with infinite gratitude for having been blessed, as so many were, with having my life forever brightened by her love, laughter, beauty, humor, intelligence and extraordinary strength. Please keep her in your thoughts, in your hearts and in your smiles and laughter for this is where she will live on forever.
We were both always so grateful for the love and support that our friends and family, and thousands of strangers gave so graciously and generously to Sadie and us through this tumultuous period of our lives. I thank you all from the bottom of my heart for helping make it an easier path to travel.
In deep thankfulness, Nathan

I wanted to share with those that loved Elisa the details about the service that will be held for her this Saturday. Please call the Funeral home if you have further questions, the number will be at the end.
A wake will be held for Elisa Bond Saturday March 29th. Chapel hours (for people to come and pay respects ) will be from 2-5 pm. There will be a second service from 7-9 pm where a blessing will be given and Elisa's father, mother and myself will speak. Knowing that Elisa was loved far and wide we have arranged for plenty of space to accommodate as many of her family and friends as possible and will have both chapels 4 and 5 open for her services. A future memorial celebration will be planned where more people will be able to share stories and celebrate her life together.
Location:
Torregrossa & Sons Funeral Home
1305 - 79th Street (on the corner).

  1. I am so very sorry for your loss. I have stopped here often over the past few years, to root for you from afar but also to enjoy Elisa's writing. Please, please make sure all her posts are printed out, carefully saved, and shared with Sadie when the time is right. (And don't delete the expletives!) Her ability to share joy, pain, and truth so vividly and with such a clear voice was a rare gift.

  7. Nathan, Sadie, and Family-it has been awhile since I last read this blog--and something told me today-to look to see if there were any updates. I am so saddened to hear of Elisa's passing! She fought with every ounce of her being, and with dignity and Grace! I wish for you God's Peace in the next few days, weeks, and months. Sadie will forever have a Guardian Angel to watch over her. My deepest sympathies to all-Elisa sounds like an INCREDIBLE woman!!!

I'm 18 years old and have been reading this blog for the past few years, and would like to say that Elisa's incredible strength has taught me so much about life in general. Her writing is inspirational and has touched so many people. In this way (among many other ways), she will live on forever.

  19. "...Whatever we were to each other, that we are still. Call me by the old familiar name. Speak of me in the easy way which you always used. Put no difference in your tone. Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow. Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes that we enjoyed together. Play, smile, think of me, pray for me. Let my name be ever the household word it always was. Let it be spoken without effort, without the ghost of a shadow upon it. Life means all that it ever meant...."

  27. So sorry to hear of the passing of Elisa. I followed yall from the time I saw yall on the Today show. & had to re-read what had been posted on the FB pg. Know that she (& both you & Sadie) are always loved & thought of. Elisa was a fighter. She is looking down on everyone now. She will be your guardian Angel. Cancer runs in my family, & my pastor's wife (who is just 33) was recently diagnosed with BC, & so was my mom's best friend. I will remind them to fight to the end just like Elisa did. :) God Bless!!

  28. I was so sad to hear of Elisa's passing. I have followed your story from SF (I am from NYC). I am a friend of Virginia Reed's who worked with Elisa. I just wanted to share, for what its' worth, that this morning I took some time before work to sit on a bench and overlook the Bay at Chrissy Field, a beautiful spot near the Golden Gate Bridge and did a little meditation for her and you... condolences and hopes that you and Sadie will find peace and happiness, always carrying Elisa's strength and grace with you.

  42. I am truly sorry to learn of Elisa's passing. She was an inspiration to many, and it is always hard to understand why people like Elisa are taken away so young. I hope so much that you and Sadie will be able to find comfort in each other and that you, Nathan, will daily be reminded of your dear wife in the face of your sweet little girl. My prayers are with you.

  43. Hi, i would like to comment on Doctor Osemu Okpamen and his dealing with my need. I contacted him in desperation over my girlfriend of a year that broke up with me and went back to her EX-boyfriend. Consequently the break up has been devastating so much so that I've considered and still consider suicide as my only option to relieve the pain and agony in me. I felt heart broken and it affected me that i couldn't concentrate properly at my place of work for i very much loved her and need to get her back and my last chance was getting a love spell. I entered on the website http://doctorokpamenpowerfulspelltemple.webs.com and made contact with the Doctor for i read that he has a lot of positive feedback with his spells. I’m not disappointed because my lover came back to me within 24 hours after getting a love spell from the Doctor called Osemu Okpamen. We are happy couples now and if you need any kind of help, Email him on ( doctorokpamenspelltemple@hotmail.com or whats-app +2348135254384 ). Michael Snapp, +1 (305) 647-6660 USA.
